Just The Facts

  1. Adam West is well-known as a voice actor, since his unmistakable gravitas lends itself well to outlandish situaions.
  2. Has, quite possibly, the greatest introduction to any website ever for his official website. (Unfortunately, after about five seconds it's pretty much the worst website ever...)
  3. He is never without his Shark-Repellant Bat-Spray. Never.

Career

Adam West began his career as a sidekick in a show that no one has ever heard of, then was in a bunch of roles that examplified his acting range and versitility.

Then he was Batman.

For years after the Batman TV series, West was unable to get any decent acting gig, due to typecasting.

After years of bit parts, West finally realized that people aren't smart enough to separate an actor from the role he plays (see Twilight fans and Robert Pattinson) and decided to run with it. After a part on Batman: the Animated Series, wherein he played a washed-up, typcast actor unable to get any decent acting gig, West found his star character: Adam West.

Since then, he's mostly played increasingly deranged versions of himself, (Johnny Bravo, Family Guy) or parodies of the cheesetastic Batman character (Kim Possible, Fairly Oddparents).

The moral of the story, of course, is that people will never, ever respect you, no matter how hard you try, so, you know...it's better that you accept that?
