Mary Jane Watson, or MJ if you will, probably one of the most recognized girl next door in comic book history.
Mary Jane Watson was first mentioned in Amazing Spider-Man (Vol. 1) #15 (August 1964), as an unseen character. But her first historical debut appearance was in Amazing Spider-Man (Vol. 1) #42 (November 1966).
In the Comics, Mary Jane Watson grew up from a dysfunctional family. As a result Mary Jane became a party girl to channel her anger and avoid the embarrassment, which may have cast her as a forerunner to the archetype of a wily, feisty redhead.
