I got to see the first two days of Wimbledon.  I've never been before, and it was a lot of fun.  The food is unbelievably expensive though.  You can end up spending the equivalent of $15 for lunch for one person if you're not careful.  You see some really good tennis though, and the whole experience is marvelous. 

I saw Gael Monfils completely mop the floor with Thomas Johanssen, who's a good player.  Monfils is kind of a rookie, but I think this will be his coming out tournament.  He could make it pretty far, although after looking it seems like he's in what must be the toughest quarter of the draw. 

Shit. Ana Ivanovic is out. Fucking Venus. She's replaced Hingis for me as the best looking woman in tennis - I know, I know, don't get me wrong, Sharapova's great, but she's not my type.

Did anyone see the interview straight after she beat Vaidisova? She was all happy and sweaty and god I would be her slave.



Don't really like the long hair, but yum nonetheless.

I dunno. The eastern european thing just makes me go nuts. She's a very graceful player too. And really making a charge for the top rankings too.

Shame about Baghdatis losing to Djokovic, I like the cypriot, but if he had to lost to anyone, I'm glad it was him.

And Bartoli? Where the fuck did she come from? She's quite easy on the eyes too.

And Roddick's getting fucked as I type. He just lost to Gasquet. Go him!

As for playing, I haven't played tennis for years, but my table tennis game has improved dramatically. I have a weird triangle relationship going - one girl I beat because my counterattacking style works against her nice topspin shots, she beats another guy because he settles into defense instead of trying to counter, so she gets to run the show. The guy beats me because he can be very patient with me and wear me down.

I saw her first in the aussie open last year and basically drooled as a first reaction. She's been going nuts since then.

Shame about Nadal, I thought he had a real chance. I like fed too, but I have a soft spot for the underdog.

Small ass/big ass is a matter of personal aesthetics. I'm personally a fan of the big ones. As for touch, there isn't even a contest, big asses all the fucking way (and for BDSM purposes too). The ass thing is why I disagree with those that say Hantuchova is hot - she has no hips and no ass at all.

Soooo, I'm thinking that the next few years will be dominated by Fed and Nadal and Djokovic too if he can keep it up.

Damn, how about Fed knocking off Blake? I have a burgeoning theory: Federer plays better against better players. He looks much better later in the tournament, against better players, than at the beginning of the tournament against whatever luckless journeyman he chances to play. Blake played insane tennis (under the legs lob winner. Anybody? Anybody?), but Federer managed to raise his game when it counted.

Anybody see Henin get beat? She's my favorite player on the women's tour because she has an insanely strong mental game, and because she has the guts and grit to goe toe-to-toe with people a foot taller than her, and win. Too bad about that.

But the match I'm most psyched for is Djokovitch-Federer, tomorrow night. My prediction: Federer wins, 6-3, 6-7, 7-6, 6-4.

Oh, as a Frenchman, I'm pulling for Tsonga, against my most loathed tennis player on the men's tour, Nadal. I don't know why I have this (completely irrational) hatred for him, but I do.

Ivanovic v Hantuchova today. What a match. Hantuchova won the first 8 games to be up 6-0 2-0 and Ivanovic ended up winning 0-6 6-3 6-4.

The final is Sharapove v Ivanovic. That's a good looking match up. Go Ivanovic

That was amazing. Tsonga just put a whuppin' on Nadal. I dind't even know such a whupin' could be given. He's gonna be scaring the shit out of Djokovic and Federer.

Wimbledon he got to the 4th round, beating Benneteau, Lapentti, and Feliciano Lopez before losing to Gasquet. At the US Open, he beat Hernandez and Henman before losing to Nadal.

So yeah, 4th round at Wimby was pretty far for him at the time... though now, his standards better be a bit higher! :) Allez Tsonga!

...though really, I'm rooting for Djokovic to go all the way, if he beats Fed it would be such a shame for him to lose to Tsonga afterwards.

Only 3:3 and already possible the most awesome game I've seen, except the Rafter-Agassi games at wimbledon.

One point djokovic did the most crazy awesome defence and finally got a passing shot of doom out of nowhere. Serving, he got a challenge right, where really he should have gotten an ace, then got 2 lets, a fault, and finally served an unreturnable anyway. And then he did a beautiful drop-volley, which is Tsonga's speciality.

I'm gay for this game.

Well done to Djokovic, he knows how to screw with people's games really well, he did it to Federer the round before, and now he did it to Tsonga brilliantly.

Those top seeds just keep falling don't they. No Nadal, no Murray and no Djokovic. This is Federer's best shot for sure.
