Anyways, I hope this really make the character someone I can emphasize with. Maybe even branch off in certain ways.

If the protagonist winds up being Russian, that's a strike against it already.  Why not do something unique, like follow the Yakuza?  Or multiple protagonists?

The graphic look absolutely amazing in that trailer. The only real knock I've ever had against the GTA series is how their graphics compare to other games. Looks like they've fixed that so far.

You mean like the Japanese GTA3 clone called Yakuza?



Also, the sense of scale in this thing makes me giddy.  Something I've always wanted in games are buildings that are as big as real buildings while having enough detail to show pidgeons picking at garbage in the streets.  I don't see how they can screw this up (especially considering Take Two needs this game to live.)

Its not made by Rockstar?

Even if they screw it up it will sell like Halo 2.  Well not that well but you know what I mean.  So far it looks fantastic but no gameplay mechanics have been shown yet.  Only cool vagueness.

I'm not sure about this one, it looks amazing but I haven't seen enough of it to make me want to buy a PS3 or Xbox360. (especially since i've recently bourght a Wii)

I was kind of disappointed. It looks good, but I was hoping for a revolutionary announcment, maybe it being an MMO. I don't want another free-roaming crime game. I know GTA III invented the formula, but it's so tired.
