I'm going to run an update about the annual Adventures of John and Dave Convention from this weekend.  The event was attended by some 500,000 AoJaD fans, many of which in costume, and sparked some riots.

Obviously this event did not actually occur so my photo album from the event will consist of photoshops taken from other events.  If anyone with Photoshop skills would like to help me manufacture some pics from AoJaDCon, please post them here.

Obviously the people who appeared in "costume" would be merely wearing blue T-Shirts, or ties, and have blocky black fake mustaches.

Also, I want to portray the crowds at this thing as being HUGE.  The point is to baffle the hell out of AoJaD newcomers and convince them that this comic is the more popular than Spiderman.

When I made these I wasn't thinking of a Woodstockesque thing like has already been submitted, but more along the lines of a Sci-Fi convention, so they're all indoors.  Also, they aren't as awesome, because frankly wibblewobbles are fantastic.  That being said, they're already made so I might as well at least throw them up here.

I don't know who the guy in the middle could be, maybe a writer, but when i saw these guys on some twin site, along with their killer 'staches I had to try.

These next two are all about the secondary characters, because what's a convention without somebody dressing up as Bounty Hunter #7?

This banner met us as we drove into town, needless to say it got me really excited for the Con.

That afternoon we  watched the world famous AoJaDCon parade. I wish my School Marching band could get invited to one of these...

And I can't think up a caption for this, but here's the sky writing:

Wibblewobble beat me to it, and made a much better one, but there you are.  It's at about 40% size here - not sure if this or the larger one (linked) is better.  It's clearer anyhow.

Here's the full sized one

I've got a fair few pictures of glastonbury.  If anyone wants to use them, I can email them or get them hosted on imageshack.

What's AoJaDCon without the crowd-surfing?

Nothing, that's what.

Thanks for the contributions.  But looking at these, I think the joke works far better if we do a more realistic style photoshop, like those first few.  I really want these to look like we had a real, gigantic convention.

Obviously these won't hold up under expert scrutiny, I'm not  saying that, I'm just saying it's funnier if they kind of look like real photographs taken from a real convention.

But still thanks for taking the time to make them.

I think that those images of John and David straight out of the comics would work great as those masks with a little stick that were used in courtesan parties and those things.

That's what I was going for.  Couldn't I just make the face color more like that of a mask?

I can do it if he doesn't have time.  That would be a perfect visual cue to explain what we're looking at (though the photo album will have captions).

It was a great convention and all, but the pre-show wait was kind of ridiculous, what with all the fans camping out and waiting in front of the entrances.

Security was high and some of the regulations were kind of strict. But you could feel the AoJaD vibe all around you.
