When I was young (about 8 or 9), my cousin and I would actively seek out monsters. This was cool, because I lived in the middle of an old english village, with graveyards and abandoned railway bridges etc. We would sneak out of the house at about 4 in the morning, and wander about 'til dawn, and though we never found any spooks, we had a great time creeping ourselves out. Recently I met up with my cousin and we had a few beers and started reminiscing about our 'ghost hunting' days. I told him about one particular instance when we went to a nearby country park at daybreak and saw, amongst the morning mists, dozens of human shadows wandering in and out of view in the distance. Now, obviously there were plenty of explanations for this (it was still quite dark, misty and there could have been campers out) but we remained freaked out. I distinctly remember it as the one instance of 'ghost hunting' were we didn't go and check it out further, opting instead to run the hell away. When I told my cousin about this, he had absolutely no memory of it- even though he remembered every other instance. I rallied, telling him about the video game we made up (on sheets of A4 paper, again one of our hobbies) about the two brave kids in the deserted camp ground that took on the shadow children. I remember this distinctly, remember drawing a silhouette of a boy and a girl (the girl had a ponytail) who each had pin-point red eyes. We did this several times, just like we did with every one of our 'adventures'. He wouldn't remember it, and was totally adamant that I either did it with someone else (impossible, I had no other friends) or dreamed it up.

Oh, well. Like it was said- everyone has a story. Though perhaps this is why I liked JDaTE so much in the first place. Or perhaps my cousin got bitch-slapped by shadow people.

Not exactly a history change experience, but I was at a party a few nights ago, and we were playing some card games. The girl sitting across from me was arranging her cards in front of herself as she drew them, and eventually it became a Pi symbol. Should I be scared? Or should I hit on her until she wants nothing more to do with me?

Narjhan, I didn't do the research, but I am relatively certain that when the original trilogy was digitally remastered not to long ago, Christensen replaced whoever that old-ish guy was. Any number of reasons could explain this, from that guy dying, being unreachable, changing careers, being too busy, etc. for a reshoot of that scene, or Lucas just wanted to connect the two trilogies with one more detail.

Holy crap! All those times things of mine have simply disappeared off the face of the earth... SURELY shadow guys have gotta have something to do with that... maybe killing someone off, who never brought something to work, never sold a certain thing, but we still remember it etc...

And there are details with certain people that change... Though when said person tells me and someone else, we both remember the original events...

As a Star Wars nerd, I can tell you that yes, Lucas digitally replaced Anakin with Hayden Christiansen. Infact, I think there's a Cracked article that mentions it here somewhere. That still doesn't explain the fact that I know I saw yellow lightsabers in the gladitator scene.

This isn't really a "History Change", but it's more related to the "Shadowmen Created Videogames" plot...

Has anyone played "Call of Duty: World at War"?

There is a mode that you unlock called "Nazi Zombies", basically dead Nazis swarm this house you're in until they overwhelm you. It's just a "survival mode", so I think it doesn't have an "end", buy you just hunker down, and have to fight harder and harder until they overwhelm you wave after wave.

But the thing is, the Zombies are almost completely black, and their eyes are glowing orange pin-points.

Then it occurred to me that this is like a game designed by Shadowmen...

1. The bad guys look like them.

2. There is a never ending stream of them.

3. No matter how hard you fight you'll eventually be overwhelmed.

So what is this game really "teaching" you?

When I started thinking about it, it really creeped me out.

I think its teaching us we need more people.
Oh and that we're gunna lose, but lets ignore that eh?

There were a couple of things actually that happened to me. But right now I cant bloody remember them. Guess the shadow men are getting better eh?

I'll see people I've never met before and get strong feelings I've met them before.

Though, the closest thing that was 'supernatural' I've had was a picture of Jesus, and it glew green. I was little then, so I ran screaming. I still have it. Maybe if I try that opening my mind thing like when Dave was talking to Arnie about the Wigmonster?

Though, I don't keep up with news and pop culture enough to know about any changes like you're talking about.

When I was a kid (about 4 years old) I strongly believed I used to have a twin.  I don't remember a lot from being 4 years old, mostly images.  But I distinctly remember wondering where my twin was.  When I got a little older I even did some vague detective work to see if I did in fact, had a twin at some point and she died and my parents kept her a secret from me.  I never asked them, because it was pretty clear that I never had a twin and I would just sound crazy.  But even now I get these weird feelings like I was supposed to have had a twin.

Looks like they've been at work again, because although I know it's not a word, it feels like it should be.

Now, being in the unhappy position of only very recently having heard about JDatE, I've not read it or any part of it so what I thought of whilst reading this may be mentioned in it. It concerns something Philip K. Dick experienced.
One time he went to the bathroom in his house and reached for the pull-cord for the light in there, and there wasn't one. There was a light-switch. Thing is, he remembered there being a cord to pull, and that it had been there for years. Long story short, this led him to realise that the Roman Empire had never ended and everything we experience is a sort of gloss-reality covering up what's really going on.
Check out the "mental health" section in the wikipedia article and the topic on him by Stumpy Joe.

Hm, Stacy Keach has just been hospitalized for undisclosed reasons, but I could've sworn he died 3 years ago.

I remember hearing about this singer, a black woman who went by just one name, dying young back in the late 90s.  These days I hear about Beyonce and I think it's the same person, and I think "shouldn't she be dead?"  But I'm probably wrong.  Does anyone else remember a woman dying of an overdose or something, a singer who went by a single name?

Aaliyah died in the late 90's, but not from an overdose; her plane went down.  Too much luggage.

Wait, that wasn't the late nineties.  Early in this decade, anyway.

What a twist!

HOLY SHIT, JESUS MOTHER FUCKING CHRIST OH MY GOD!!!!! I JUST SAW ONE! I was walking down my dark hallway to go take a crap when suddenly a black humanoid shadow with red pinpoint eyes just appears in front of me. Like it's face was right in front in front of me like those screamers on this here internet. I actually flinched, stumbled back, covered my eyes, then felt a tingle all over my body as if my body was asleep but my mind wasn't. About 2 seconds after I opened my eyes and my lights were on which were off when I walked down the hall, and  am the only one in the house right now.

I am currently holding a baseball bat in one hand typing with the other, and glancing over my shoulder.

You sleepwalk and see things that aren't there and turn on lights without remembering doing it often?

I'm just messing with you.  Of course it was nothing.  *finger guns*

I could swear that I remember Steve Irwin dying several years before he did. Actually on several occasions. The first time, I remember him being bit my some snake in Africa. I don't remember much about it so its possible it was just a rumor.
The second time though. I remember him being killed by a crocodile at his zoo. I remember seeing a special about him on tv that was dedicated to him. I remember all my friends being sad because of it. Then next thing I know, turns out, no, he just got his leg bit and had to get surgery. Here comes a new season of crocodile hunter.

On a smaller scale, one of my best friends and I *supposedly* had a very deep and important conversation over AIM. Stuff I wouldn't have forgotten, especially not quickly. Anyway, she asked me about it a week later and I had no idea what she was talking about. She told that we had already had a conversation about everything, and I told her we didn't. We were both saving our chat logs at the time, and I went back and It wasn't in mine, but it was in hers.

As for seeing shadow people, yes I have, and I don't like talking about it. It's probably the most terrifying experience I have ever had in my entire life. Anyone who has ever heard me tell them the story has been thoroughly freaked out by the end.

Honestly? Buffalo Wings. It sounds full blown retarded but I distinctly remember having the damn things pop up in ever single resturant ad, like on the same day. Never heard of them before, then theyre everywhere. I might have been just a kid at the time but I was an idiot kid who watched too much tv, if there had been a single comerical with these things in it, I'd have seen it.
