The gigapixel skyline.You can almost tell what some of the people in the buildings are watching on TV. Amazing. I opened that link and just randomly clicked around zooming in. The very first thing it zoomed to was this.I must have a 6th sense for boobs. |

That's... not really what it is at all. Both those pictures are from the Catacombs of Paris, created to accept all the remains from all the condemned cemeteries in the center of the city. They did that because those were filling up and causing all sorts of problems to their surroundings, like diseases and soil contamination, so they just opened up larger cemeteries on the suburbs of Paris (like the famous Père Lachaise Cemetery, where Jim Morrisson is buried) and banned them inside the city proper. They took all the bones and remains from those closed off cemeteries and arranged them in ossuaries as a tourist attraction. This is quite an amazing picture of a wall of the ossuary, with the inscription showing the original cemetery which the bones came from and the date they were brought there. |
