The Village.

That entire film felt like It was building up to something, and then it ended. The huge "twist" at the end provided nothing more than a feeling of "Oh", and there is nothing even remotely scary about a retard in a suit following a cripple round in the woods for a while. Apart from this, if there was anything resembling an engaging plot in there, I was too busy having my senses dulled by inanity of the whole affair that I had absolutely no chance of noticing it.

Napoleon Dynamite- seriously overrated. None of the characters were likable, the jokes were stale, and the plot was boring. What really gets on my tits is that everyone thinks I look exactly like the title character (even though I have huge sideburns, no glasses, perfect teeth and a voice that doesn't sound like Butthead) and scream "NAPOLEOOOOON DYNAMIIIITE!" every time they pass by me.

Something like "I just didn't care for it."

You know, the type of argument that usually suffices when you bring one of most highly rated movies of all time into a forum discussion about complete garbage titles that should have never been made.

Its movies you didnt like very much not garbage titles that should never have been made. I'll 2nd The Godfather as well, not that it doesnt deserve its accolades i just personally didnt enjoy it as much as i thought i would.

I didn't like the godfather as well.  It sort of horrified me that I could not garner any enjoyment of the film whatsoever, and then it dawned on me; I had waited too long to see it.  There was too much hype.  There was too much buildup.  And too many films had taken the movie as a reference point.  More than that, there had been too many references to the godfather in the media, all originating from this one film.  In that respect, there were no surprises, there was nothing "new" that it could say to me, and worst of all, it just left me feeling like I had watched a collection of cliches rounded into one movie.  Instead of the groundbreaking work that everyone i knew spoke of it, I realized that it had felt like a piece of unoriginal, forgettable garbage.

Wrong Turn was probably the worst movie I've ever seen. It was like they took the "silly blood and gore" idea, which can be funny and campy, to the point where it lost all meaning. I could have gotten the same experience by visiting a butcher's shop.
The good guys were dumb and not likable, the bad guys had no motives as far as I could tell, and the plot... did not. It just wasn't.

Also, this thread should probably be renamed. The current name is too confusing- I expected to be reading about movies that the poster expected to be the worst ones ever, but turned out to just be ones they didn't like very much. Like maybe after seeing the movie they said "Well, that wasn't so bad. I didn't like it, but I see how other people could have."

How about: "Movies you didn't like (we've had trouble picking a name for this thread, so if there is any confusion, please look over the other, older posts.)."

World Trade Center.  I have no idea how a film about such a huge, tragic event starring Nicolas Cage can be so boring.  I enjoy the majority of all the films I see, even Plan 9 from Outer Space, but I have seen this film twice now, once at the cinema, and it just bored me to death.  And I know I don't have a short attention span because I've seen Elephant, which mainly consists of people walking and playing the piano.

I don't know why I found it so boring.  I think its probably because the World Trade Center buildings collapsing was such a big thing that I felt like the film was building up to that one event, but that event happened right at the beginning so it was all downhill from then on.

Semi-Pro

I just watched this about a week ago and seriously couldn't laugh at anything. Jackie Moon is Chazz Michael Michaels in basketball. Every joke I saw coming and the film just bored me to death. This movie sucks.

No movie that brought me that much joy could be all bad.
However, a few years ago I did some DVD transfer editing on a movie called, "The Last Slumber Party".
Lo and behold, it even has an imdb page.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0212302/

So this mental patient escapes, dresses like a doctor and kills people with a scalpel.  Apparently the writer/director/producer loved the "it was all a dream" plot twist so much, he used it three times.

Been hittin' the thighmaster, Torgo?

OK I've only seen the MST3K version of this movie. What the hell is supposed to be up with Torgo's legs? What does he have, elephantiasis or something?

Fact: It is physically impossible to sit through Manos without the MST3K commentary track.

Anyway, the story behind the legs. Torgo was supposed to have goat legs, so the crew actually made prosthetic goat legs for the actor playing Torgo to wear. Unfortunately for him, and unnoticed by everyone, he wore the goat legs backwards. Throughout the entirety of the shoot. This caused the actor such immense pain that he became addicted to painkillers, and eventually committed suicide.

It's a shame too, he showed Oscar potential in that film.

I just read an interview with Joel Hodgson where he says he didn't even realize they were goat legs because of how the silhouettes blocked the bottom of the screen.  They never saw the hooves, so they just thought he had fat legs.

Wrong Turn was probably the worst movie I've ever seen.

Wrong Turn 2 was worse.  It had half the budget (all of which they spent on the Kelly Clarkson cameo) and you actually got to watch the inbreeds have sex.

The Wicker Man, which I saw in theatres with my friend for a laugh.

Nick Cage really outdid himself. Not.

The whole theatre was laughing when they broke his knees and he started screaming- hell, I'm laughing just thinking about it.
