Welcome to the newest Cracked.com Photoshop Contest.  It will run from Thursday May 1st through Wednesday May 7th.

We're doing it a little bit different this time.  In conjunction with the opening of the Cracked Store we're asking for some badass T-shirt designs.

Rather than just have you do a Cracked logo, what we want is for you to pull a funny quote from a Cracked article, and incorporate it into a T-shirt design somehow.  Match the quote up with a graphic, or some symbols, whatever. Use your imagination. It doesn't even have to be the full joke from an article, it can be just a few words or a phrase.

The winner gets $50, and we may choose more than one if there are enough good ones. We'll sell the winner(s) right in the store. So if you've never entered one of our photoshop contests before, now is the time.

IMPORTANT:

The image on the T-shirt is 10 x 10 inches.  Cafe Press requires that the image be at least 200 DPI in quality, which means yours will be 2,000 x 2,000 pixels.  If you're confused, Cafe Press supplies this template:

...which gives you a handy size guide.  You can just draw your image right on there.

Keep your designs as simple as possible to get the point across, as is the standard in the world of T-shirt design.  Yes, you can do two images on the shirt (front and back) if you want.

Since we're selling these shirts, you'll of course need to avoid copyrighted material.

As always, you will post your image in this thread.  You can submit as many entries as you want.

Obviously for this contest we are lifting the 480-pixel width requirement. These images will be large.  Instead of posting them with the image tags, it will probably be better just to link to them. Your Photobucket accounts will thank you.

OFFICIAL RULES

Participation in the Cracked.com T-Shirt Contest (the “Contest”) constitutes your agreement to be bound by these Official Rules. NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN.

Sponsor: Cracked Entertainment, Inc., 15801 NE 24th Street, Bellevue, WA 98008, U.S.A.

Eligibility: You must be a registered member of Cracked.com. Employees, officers and directors of Sponsor and their immediate family members are not eligible to participate in the Contest. Void where prohibited by law.

Entry: To enter, upload your t-shirt design through the forum thread on Cracked.com. There is no limit on the number of designs you may submit. Our Cracked Editorial Staff will create an article on Cracked.com that will feature our favorite Submissions. By submitting a design, you agree to the use of your name in the article to appear on Cracked.com and for promotional purposes.

Contest Period: The Contest begins on May 1, 2008 at 12:01 a.m. Eastern Time and ends on May 7, 2008 at 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time.

Selection of Winner: For the Submissions that we REALLY like, we will want to sell that design in our Cracked store. If your design is selected for sale in our Cracked store, you will win a prize! At least one winner will be selected, but we may select more winners if there are other entries that we think are equally funny (in our humble opinion).

Prize: The creator of each shirt design that is selected for sale in our Cracked store will receive a check for $50 and the glory of having his or her design featured in our Cracked store. All federal, state and/or local taxes are the sole responsibility of the winner.

Notification: The winner will be notified by e-mail on or about May 7, 2008. If a prize notification or prize is returned as undeliverable and we are unable to reach the winner after at least 2 further attempts, the prize may be forfeited at the sole discretion of Sponsor.

Required Paperwork: As a condition to receiving the prize, the winner will be required to sign and return a separate assignment of rights in the design and, except where prohibited by law, a publicity release. Winner should allow approximately 3 weeks after mailing the paperwork to receive the prize.

Intellectual Property: You agree that Sponsor may use the Submission, or any portions or elements of the Submission, as described in these Official Rules without any payment or other obligation whatsoever to you. If you are selected as a Winner, you agree to assign and hereby do assign to Sponsor all of your rights, title and interest in the Submission. You represent and warrant that you are (a) the author/creator of the Submission, (b) that you are the present and sole owner of all right, title and interest in and to the Submission, (c) that it is an original work, (d) that you have the full, exclusive and unconditional right and authorization to submit the Submission, and (f) that no third party has any rights in or to the Submission. You agree to indemnify, defend and hold harmless Sponsor, and its subsidiaries, affiliates, successors and assigns, from and against any and all claims, demands, expenses, losses or liabilities including but not limited to reasonable attorney's fees and punitive damages that may be asserted against or incurred by them at any time in connection with the Submission, or any use thereof, including, without limitation, those arising from any breach, or alleged breach, of the warranties, representations and promises provided by you in these Official Rules. Sponsor reserves the right to modify designs in its sole discretion.

General Conditions: No purchase necessary. Sponsor is not responsible for and shall not be liable for: (i) misdirected or delayed mail or e-mail; (ii) telephone, telecommunications, hardware or third party software malfunctions, failures, or difficulties of any kind; (iii) any condition caused by events beyond Sponsor’s control that may cause the Contest to be disrupted, corrupted or terminated; (iv) any injuries, losses, or damages of any kind arising in connection with or as a result of participating in the Contest or foolish spending of the prize; or (iv) any printing or typographical errors in any materials associated with the Contest. Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify, in its sole discretion, any person tampering with the entry process, the operation of the systems required to conduct the Contest or operate the Sponsor web site, or who is otherwise in violation of these Official Rules. All issues concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of these Official Rules, or the rights and obligations of the participants, shall be determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion. All decisions of Sponsor are final. By participating in the Contest, you also agree to be bound by the Cracked.com Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy.

The upload feature doesn't work for everybody, we're not sure why.  It's buggy.  Most people are hosting theirs online elsewhere, like ImageShack.com.
