Alright, here's hoping third time's the charm as far as my participation in this contest goes. I have a feeling this week's going to suck, and I have no ideas at the moment, but here's at least hoping.

I think you're being awfully pessimistic. I already saw quite a few entries I liked, including but not limited to the cats on stage, wow guy looking out the window, old man reading cracked and the post-it lolcat.
I'm not saying we're not going to get some great entries. I'm just saying that I think the possibilities for this week are pretty limited, and we're going to get a lot of similar entries. That's the logic behind my post.

I actually think the fact that many entries will be similarly themed could  be interesting because we will get to see how creatively folks can pull off the same general idea. It should force folks to up their game.

I loved this one. Also, I think dagur's entry would be a deserved win so far.

I also enjoyed the above entry.
College Binary's DOB made me laugh.
Did you not see Jack and Dave in front of him?

I'm all against word bubbles, but the dialog really adds to the humor of this one.

Photoshop Contest

Photoshop is not an internet application.  If the internet ceased to exist today I could still use photoshop on my computer.  The only difference would be I would have to mail my image in instead of uploading it.

And print it, I know, I thought about it afterward, but still posted, oh well.

A lot of good ones, although I think some are confusing what would happen if the Internet just disappeared versus what would happen if the Internet had never existed.

Is it just me, or has this week's theme shifted to: "People standing in really long lines?" C'mon folks, let's get a little more original here.

i donno--'comment suicide' seems like the kind of punny punchline that deserves a rimshot.  if its intentional, theres a certain campiness that i really like, i'm just curious as to whether or not it is...

anyway, at least those who comment suicide have it better than the other players who just plain found themselves horde out on the street.  thank you, folks, i'll be here all week!

I see they have changed the name of last weeks competition again.

This time from "unseen victims of videogame characters"  to "the collateral damage video games never show" thus making several of the winning entries not fit the theme.

Why is this done?

The theme was broadened to include more entries. Unseen victims fits into collateral damage, whereas unseen victim itself implies only a person.

Since they changed the theme, they could include some entries that weren't strictly another person being harmed.

I think some are confusing what would happen if the Internet just disappeared versus what would happen if the Internet had never existed.

Or what would happen if internet companies were manifested into a physical form.

Well, if the Internet vanished, then those companies would want to stay in business somehow, and turn physical. I think that's what most of those people are going for.

D'oh, I just realized Minesweeper naturally comes on your computer, meaning no internet connection is required to play it.

Certainly, most people would just ditch their computers without internet but the ones who would want to play minesweeper would surely keep them around.

Wow, I failed.
