Rudy Giuliani: A Protector Against All Evils

Some are criticizing Rudy Giuliani’s new commercial “Ready” as race-baiting, fear mongering trash that appeals to the worst in all of us. But I think that’s an unfair attack. Indeed, if you watch the TV spot closely you’ll see that Rudy is concerned with protecting Americans —not only from brown-skinned people who worship a different God— but all sorts of threats to national security.

Evil robot monkeys? Bah. Jock itch? Unpleasent. Oprah breeding? *grabs Swaim’s shotgun*

  3. Michael Swaim Says:

What evil robot mokeys? I’m watching it right now and I don’t see–

*stunned silence, reaches for nearby shotgun, ends life in explosion of red mist and regret*

I think most of the public have been over sensitized to evil robot monkeys. I know I have.

  5. chris Says:

probably the fear erased the image, I get shakes just thinking of them

  6. Gladstone Says:

Jane, did you notice the evil robot monkeys?

. . . if you watch the spot closely . . . but that’s just the thing about commercials — people take away impressions from them, they don’t “watch them closely.” The impression is to appeal to our basest instincts. I am so so sick of him. Seven years of this crap, from the terrorists themselves, the Bush administration, then economic problems, etc etc. Doesn’t the guy get it? It’s gonna work against him.

Is admitting he approved that really a wise career move?

    Yes Ross,

That or the ol’ Neville Chamberlain.

Also, tossing in an ending of a shot of a giant spider whilest screaming ‘the spider! Giant spider! Behind you! Arrrrgh.’

  11. Ross Says:

I’m glad we don’t have shits like Rudy Guiliani stirring up fear here. As proved in July, our response to terrorism is to headbutt it in the face.

Then kick it in the balls when it’s down and on fire.

I thought the video was fine. I laughed out loud a couple of times. Though I recoiled in shock at the Bill O’ Reilly jockitch picture. I was truly hoping not to see that visage of scourges of mankind again.
I wouldn’t worry about Swaim’s video to much, he has minions to do his work anyway, doesn’t he?

  13. gladstone Says:

Thanks Tim. I’ll put that on my resume. You’ll get no argument from me about the superior video. Frankly I’m shocked I even got the thing edited semi-right.

  14. tim Says:

i have to say swaim’s video today was a bit better, but still i laughed.

With Rudolph in charge I’ld be really concerned with our safety also but, I know his real record.
