i liked all 4 movies alot, but i found the same problem, i didnt really laugh at them. its not that they werent funny it just wasnt the same. i am also the same swaim in that i have driven most of my friends insane with futurama quotes and referances.

IMHO the first futurama movie - Benders big score - made me crack up plenty of times, and i thoroughly enjoyed it. The following movie - benders game - did not. havent seen the others yet. that doesnt answer your question.

i had to create an account to say this how is it that every opinion I have about anything (the Futurama movies, Arrested Development, Double Fine, the Fallout Series and a totally rational fear of robots) ends up in one of your articles. Are you stealing my thoughts? Did you find some kind of door somewhere that leads to my brain?

As to your specific question, I think that these movies weren’t as good as the series because they felt too disjointed. Instead of making movies with fluid, well thought out plotting they made four episodes that were kind of related and stuck them all together. I can’t think of a good reason why the songs sucked so badly though.

I am an avid Futurama fan and, in my opinion, the movies are just not as funny. I did very much enjoy them though. They just didn’t have the devastating comedic chain-lightning that the series had. It was still enjoyable and nostalgic for a fan of the series, but it’s closer to a reunion than a continuance. I’m glad they were able to get some more work though.
