Im a black woman and I cringe everytime I hear that Tyler Perry has a new movie out. There are good black writers (think Greys’ Anatomy). I don’t understand why he is getting so much press and praise about his crappy movies. They are all the same movie. Black woman is the victim of some craziness that she needs to work through and Madea being a loud, ghetto lunatic with a gun. There are better ways that he could write a movie about black women being uplifted and dealing with drama and overcoming it than putting in all the excess crap like Madea (and her phony-country accent) purposely mispronouncing words and pulling out guns at people every chance she gets. Is this what all old black women are like?

We were raised to call our grandmother Madea as well and she is nothing like this bafoon on-screen. She makes all Madea’s look bad and most black women look short-tempered and ghetto.

It’s sad that the only comedy that black audiences seem to applaud involve cursing, ignorance, flatulence and weapons. Tsk. Tsk.

I feel like you, have I missed out on something?? How are his movies good??? I have yet to get excited when a Tyler Perry movie comes out and I fill my schedule when my friends invite me to go see it.

Oh and I also wondered why he self-titles his movies. Guess we see why now. $$

ALSO tyler perry does other movies that are not madea films which are also excellent such as A Family That Preys, and Why Did I Get Married. check em out bitches!
