@Rachel: That’s a complete cop-out. Are you suggesting the whole similarity was accidental? I doubt you believe that. Well then seeing how it’s intentional many people took issue with it and saw it as worthy of discussion.

You know what I’m sick of hearing? People shouting about how they’re sick of hearing about racism and/or negative ethnic sterotyping. I’ll be damned if people who take offense to such things (does that fundamentally bother you - people taking offense to something on a racial level?) will just keep quiet to avoid bothering those who just don’t want to hear about it.

It’s not easy to decipher your message, and it’s harder still to fathom out just what your solution is. Nobody’s comparing this to atrocious acts commited in the name of racial bigotry, but just because it’s only a level 3 offense doesn’t mean we should pretend it’s perfectly normal. If nothing else we should talk about it and call it like it is.

Bottom line is: racism exists, examples of it will surface from time to time, and it will piss many people off. If your greatest hardship when it comes racism is that you have to hear people expressing their dislike of it, then you really ain’t got shit to complain about.
