On a recent episode of reality-based sitcom “The Hannity and Colmes variety Hour”, sideshow freak and sometime scribbler Anne Coulter defended her use of the term ‘Camel Jockeys’ to refer to Arabs.
Colmes: When you refer to an entire ethnicity as camel jockeys, it sounds bigoted,”
Coulter: Yes, and it’s so mean after they killed 3,000 Americans, and I shouldn’t be mean to them. We have sure moved away from the day when we called them Krauts and Nips.”
Leaving aside for a moment the fact that by this logic, Coulter is a ‘slave Owner’ one should hardly be surprised at this point. In the same interview, she used the terms ‘Tent merchants’ and ‘Jihad Monkeys’.
If ‘surprise’ is out where Coulter is concerned, certainly we should no longer be ‘shocked’ by anything this ‘hate peddling transgendered dude’ has to say.
I suppose that’s ‘mean’, but its common knowledge the ‘psychotic neo Nazi post-op’ has an Adam’s apple and there’s some speculation she has a jar of formaldehyde in which she keeps a ‘souvenir’
Poor Anne. It’s only a matter of time before simple racist name-calling won’t be enough to get her on TV. One can only speculate what the ‘hideous, scarecrow-like, human sized weasel fetus in a wig’ will need to do to get our attention.

First of all, that didn’t excuse the Republicans from being racist. Many of them got support for emancipation by linking the idea to colonizing blacks out of the country. And their central appeal was not to the freedom of blacks out of the goodness of the action, but to the way that slavery debased the free working man, white and black. The Republicans were less racist than the Democrats, but not by much. After the war, Republicans cooperated with Democrats in ending Reconstruction and helping enact Jim Crow.
Second, that’s historically moot. Yes, Republicans once were the more liberal party. But the progress of politics has reversed the trend. Thungoda gives you some of the history. Also look up “Dixiecrat”.

Laura, just wanted to point this out.
In the 50’s and 60’s the Republican party was shrinking in size and, in an effort to gather more support, started playing up the whole “Christian Party” angle. Up to the 50’s, there wasn’t a whole lot of Christian analysis between the parties. The republicans noticed that the pool of available voters in the Bible Belt wasn’t voting as heavily as the rest of the country and decided to play to their passions. I do doubt that they meant it to get this polarized though.

Serr8d… did you just blame atheism on Democrats? Because all of my atheist friends belong to the Fuck Your Politics party. And besides, atheism is really not a bad thing. I’ve noticed that atheists tend to be more intelligent, logical, and humane people than a lot of Christians, and aren’t being hypocritical when they go against the Christian code of conduct (i.e. No killing, turning the other cheek, loving all people, etc.).
