They don't just pick veggies any more. It would be awesome if they did. There are many jobs they take that citizens of America have to be qualified for and can earn good money at, like...uh, CONSTRUCTION. That used to be a hard, but well-paying job less than 6 years ago. Roofing, too. Now all you see is an INS field day when you pass by any place a house is built or a building repaired. Street/road construction and repair as well. We have a s**tload of skilled men who did these jobs out of work cuz Miguel, Jose, Manuel and all their countrymen schlepped over our borders, and volunteered to work at slave labor rates. And when I was 16, my first job was at Wendy's, a fast food place...many young and elderly people used to work at fast food places...now it's hard to get a job in that industry cuz for some reason, somebody thought it would be a good idea to have people who no speaka english doing customer service and talking orders. Our youth have been cheated out of the jobs that have been there for them for decades as a starting point in the world of work, and our skilled workers have been displaced by non-english speaking bumblers. It's only a matter of time till you can't even find what you want in places like Best Buy, Compusa and other stores, cuz it'll look like the friggin' barrio, and nobody will speak english.

It's ten pages and is almost word for word the federal statute with only one difference. Badass Joe Arpaio will actually enforce the law. With reason and facts on my side, this is just too easy. But so long as you feel good about yourselves and mimic everyone at your liberal s**tty state school, you'll be fine.

Anyway, just wanted to say that the only reason Texas isn't in the red is because of our illegal immigrants. Our many many mexicans (legal, illegal, citizens) working for relatively low prices and not demanding health care or much of anything besides a job. That's the only reason our factories and construction aren't slowing down. The thing is that big city (ya know, liberal Austin, Houston, San Antonio) police forces aren't stupid enough to go around playing migra and decide to generally go after criminals (whether mexican drug dealer or not-mexican drug dealer). The only thing annoying me about TX now is that we make it a requirement to know english well (to pass the only-english, ridiculously stupid, TX standardized test) in order to graduate. So the ones who want to know only spanish (possibly to be closer to their culture, who cares? but why is it so illegal to not speak english in america?) have a harder time getting a job and then apparently take your jobs of factory worker/maid/construction.
You forgot the clause that allows people to sue the government if they don't think they are harassing dark-skinned folk enough. Thankfully, the cops in Arizona are os racist that they haven't had to waste taxpayer dollars dealing with one of those lawsuits.
When you're done weeding out legal citizens from illegal citizens, United States, please build a dome around your borders. The rest of the world will be thankful of not having to deal with you at all.

here to begin... first of all, even illegals pay taxes. They do not pay federal income tax or state income tax unless they have a fake or stolen social security number. They do, however, pay for property taxes if they own porperty and everyone pays sales tax (which ammounts to most taxes collected by states) so thats a failed arguement. If we count cost versus benefit, the cheap labor they provide, coupled with the entire freaking economy we built around exploiting them, out does the uncollected taxes and the prosecution or their crimes.

Not even 10 dollars from every thousand news papers stuffed while working ina dirty, poorly ventilated warehouse rife with mosquitoes and smog and toner. You leave with so much toner on your skin you look like you just spent the day digging in a mine and feeling like it too. Newspaper bundles are not light.Imagine what that does to your lungs... And yes, the employer does pay income taxes for every illegal there, claiming them as independent contractors. so not only do you earn less than minimum wage in conditions that would give osha a heart attack, but you pay taxes on it. Anyone want a job there? Cuz i can make it happen for you.
As for the whole "you don't know how bad it is till you live in a place like this" arguement, I am originally from southern California and live in Miami so don't even try. Our cuban exiles get faaaaar more services than any legals, get automatic legal status by simply landing here, and - due in large part to a massive exile community already working in government offices here - frequently get bumped to the front of all government assistance lines. But no one is trying to revoke wet-foot dry foot. Do illegals commit crimes? yes. So do legal imigrants and even people born in the states to begin with.
also, only one border is with a hispanic country: Mexico. The other border is Canada which is an international stop for illegal imigrants the world over (like the middle east or china).
People say illegals get "all this welfare". Please explain to me all the services you think illegals qualify for, because without some serious fake doc*ments, being illegal makes one inelligible for foodstamps, housing assistance, or even College attendance (let alone financial aid). all they get is grade school education, which sales tax pays for (and they pay that) and legal process and medical care (which internartional Law that America pushed and championed in the Declaration of Human rights and countless other doc*ments and treaties). Illegal imigrants do not, in fact, have the same rights as us but they do have certain rights that every person has by virtue of being human as per international law, not to mention common decency and morality.
The Arizona law requires more than just a driver's license to prove legal pressence in America. It asks for a birth certificate, passport, or green card. The green card is normally only acceptable to ask of a legal resident. How many of us US born citizens carry a passport or birth certificate around? None right? well guess what: that means you get detained. And who will be detained? anyone looking hispanic. So it doesn't matter that you were born here and lived here your whole life. That cop that wants to f**k with you now has an excuse to detain you for nothing because no one carries that s**t. What if you do and it gets lost or stolen? well you're f**ked now aren't you? Ya this doesn't lend iotself to racist and abusive practice at all.....

Pretty much every modern country in the world requires that sort of doc*mentation besides us. If you live outside the country youd better have some identification. Mexico itself has fairly harsh immigration laws, which makes President Calderon's criticisms of the US laughably hypocritical at best. The Arizona law is nothing more than local enforcement for the federal law that isnt being enforced. You seem to be advocating an open border policy. If implimented, that would make the US the only country in the world with such.

I'm sure you would be surprised just how easy it is to get a fake Social Security number. In downtown Phoenix I've heard of fake SS numbers going for $150. Quality probably varies, of course, but it is more than enough to get WIC, welfare, food stamps, and a lot of other public services.
And what sort of jobs wont Americans do? After I've seen people cleaning out porta-johns and sewer systems in pretty horrible conditions, I wouldn't think someone starving on welfare would mind on a physically-intensive job. Jobs which pay lower than minimum wage only because they are illegals working them, and are willing to work for lower than minimum. Get rid of the workers and legal workers can take the jobs, use the unions to force the wage and conditions up, and the market will balance. And no, no one will pay 20 bucks for lettuce, and the companies know that. Supply and demand and the public not willing to shell out 20 damn bucks for lettuce. Economics 101. There have been dozens of examples of workplaces being raided for illegals and recovering just fine afterwards, even helping the legal workers near them.

No one really ever discusses why people immigrate illegally. I'm sure some of them have less than good intentions, but many of them can not afford to immigrate legally. Even if they do it is very hard to go though all that paperwork and processing and get accepted. My friend and his family who simply wanted residency (not citizenship but no longer needs a green card) had to wait seven years and had to resumbit their application after the immigration services lost it. Why did it take so long? Because they thought they were spies for Chavez (they were Venezualans) or something of that sort. Regardless of what you believe immigration needs massive reforms to not only help people who want to immigrate legally (but are eventually forced to immigrate illegally or become illegal by not leaving when their greencard expires and their paperwork has still at the bottom of some pile) but to also help people working in immigration services who are bogged down and overworked. Will this stop every person wanting to enter illegallly? No, but it can help reduce number of illegals. Having lived in Miami for awhile I have seen my freinds you were lucky enough to be cuban forced to become illegal because going back to their country is impossible for them to do. (Not talking Mexicans obviouisly) And in some cases even if we force them back we are essential killing them.

Usually an officer has to have SOME reason to pull you over and ask you for your papers. Like you were driving funny, or you have smoke coming from your car etc. This is called probable cause which makes it ok for said officer to search you and said car without a warrant. Now the reason simply is "well you don't quite look from around here".
I can't wait for more states to adopt this kind of law and then when American society keeps sinking into the s**tter we can all find someone else to blame. I went to apply for a ditch digging job and it was already taken by some b****r. Oh wait, I think that work is beneath me just like all the jobs illegals get. I say we go back to blaming gays after this doesn't magically make America Numero Uno once more.
