i accidentally watched a couple minutes of a recent episode of mind of mencia, a couple days after going to see the dark knight, only to hear mencia make some asshole joke about Heath Ledger overdosing on prescription drugs (he makes it sound like he had fun doing it). what the fuck…

I’m not a huge Mencia fan, but as was mentioned previously, he had a great stand-up special (where he told a couple of funny, positive, and touching anecdotes about mentally disabled people, no less). Count me in on the “single stand-up bit does not translate well into a weekly show” crowd.
Still, I think some in here have rather selective memories. I had to giggle when Dave Chappelle’s Show is mentioned as an example of class and intelligence in counterpoint to Mind of Mencia. Seriously??? I like him as a comic a lot, but “I’m rich, bitch!”? C’mon. And am I the only one who saw the skit where he showed himself farting and blowing himself off a toilet in slow motion? Oh yeah, that’s just SO many light years ahead of Mencia…
