How old are you people? Did Lincoln keep his cottage clean? Oh, I just thought you knew since YOU'RE 600 YEARS OLD!!! That was just a poor man-child blabbering while hitting an imaginary bug on his head. Real comedians show humor in other things that wouldn't be funny otherwise. This is completely weak.

I don't think Bob Blackman goes back as far as you think. I would say this clip is 1980's vintage and converted to b/w to look older.

Every age has good comedians. From Dean Martin to Steve Martin to Demetri Martin. And bad -- Martin Mull, Martin Short, Martin Lawrence. (The secret is to check where they put their Martin.)

Why can’t Dane Cook (or someone else for that matter) hit Dane Cook in the head with a piece of metal? Except a bigger piece. And really really hard. The same goes for those other guys too, but I especially hate Dane Cook.
-------------------------------------------------------------
It should be a really sharp piece of metal too

All I'm saying is who really wants to hear concise social or human observations phreased with wit and intelligence delivered with impeccable style and unbeatable timing? Not me, that's for sure! I like seeing some guy smack himself with the lid to a foil pan of lasagna while singing about mules and cowboys.

Huh huh, cowboys are funny.

You forgot to mention Jerry Seinfeld. Forget about Dane Cook and Carlos Mencia, Jerry Seinfeld was the guy who invented reaching riches and success by means of not being even a little bit funny.

You mean jokes about airline food and Brokeback Mountain aren't funny anymore. My faith in the comedy world is forever lost!

I am in the middle of reading the collected prose of Woody Allen. There is a Kaiser joke on every page. I guess that doesn't qualify as modern comedy though. But it is a good starting point for anyone who wants Kaiser jokes. Also he does a hilarious take on Gogol's The Overcoat. It's as funny as it sounds!
