How to Build the Most Exciting Amusement Park Ever [COMIC]

Basic Instructions is a twice weekly updating web comic that offers absurd advice on how to live your life. Some of those updates will be happening here on Cracked.
Previously Scott has taught us How to Understand a Baffling Ad Campaign and How to Tell If She's Into You Or High On Cough Syrup.

The Cyclone in Coney Island, NY lives by this theory. This is not original at all. This comic strip continues to be the funniest f**king thing ever. So f**king funny. FUNNY!!!
ReplyWhile this is absolutely true of the Cyclone (although they cleaned it up a bit recently, and started charging more... Somehow paying more really did make me feel more safe!), I don't think it reflects badly on the comic. AbandonLand would be a pretty awesome theme park.
Whenever the power goes out it should go out at exactly 12 so you don't have to reset your clock.
ReplyYou are the most agreeable spam-bot I have ever met.
Once again, this actually made me laugh. Maybe I was wrong about you, Basic Instructions...
ReplyThat is actually an awesome idea. You couldn't make it obvious that it was your intention, though. The scariest ride would be the one that looks brand new and then half way through, the cars grind to a halt, and then swing from the track for a second before drawing back up and continuing the ride. It would have to happen at a different spot every time, and you would have to convince the people riding that it's way more fun if they don't warn others about it.
Replyif you read this you have no sense of humor, this man couldnt make a funny comic if his weasel life depended on it

Sorry but I gotta disagree. This one was one of the best. It seems the more recent ones that they've posted are better than the originals.
If you didn't read this you won't know what it says.
Consider it done. Abandoned Land, coming to a city near you!
ReplyCrap. Now I'm thinking through the implications. Thanks for wasting my timer hoser!
ReplyI would go to this amusement park.
ReplyI would too, but I'd bring my own helmet.
I love it! Where do I sign up as an investor in this "Abandoned Theme Park" park?
Replyjust send me your money order and I'll pop the shares in the mail
Of all these Meyer comics, this is a personal favourite. (And I like most of them, admittedly).
ReplyI love his comment in Panel 3 about the parents...
I can't believe all the hate comments for these. A 10 second read and a short chuckle (and to be honest, the main character in these comics looks like one of my college professors). Even the stupid ones usually make me chuckle. Not bad for something where the only effort is a left click and 10 seconds of reading.
ReplyThis is by far the best idea for a strip Scott Meyer has ever had.
ReplyHa, great comic! The one's posted on Cracked don't always make me laugh (a stark contrast to those on your site) but this was very funny.
ReplyAnd I hope anyone that comes here to comment about it sucking realizes they are making you more money for reading the comic. Thanks for supporting Scott guys!
What is a 'Squatter'?
ReplyThink "hobo."
The people who currently rule the park.
That sounds
ReplyI totally want to go to this park.
ReplyI'm pretty sure you can make a haunted hobo theme park if you wanted too. Can't be any worse than the fair.
Reply Hide All See All 4 RepliesIt IS the fair.
Damn, now I don't know where I want to spend my summer vacation. Haunted Hobo Land or Abandoned Land?
I don't have kids, but I would be the sort of parent to bring them to these kind of amusement parks. Think about it, it comes with its own edu-tainment(fun-u-cational?).
Is the land haunted or are the hobos?
Last one of these I'll ever read. I give up.
Reply Hide All See All 3 RepliesHow many have you read? And why have you continued to read this long?
Does that mean I don't have to read your whiny comments anymore? Because if so, WIN.
Me too. I already sent a letter to the editors, and will be getting my refund check soon.
The last panel was right. "Oh, Lord no." That's what I think whenever I see a new one of these. The site was right to bury it under three other bits.
ReplyAnd yet you still clicked on it and read the whole thing. :)
I've heard of reading the last page but the last caption? Is this a hipster thing?
If you grew up in North Jersey in the 80's and 90's you have been to this place.....
ReplyIt was called Action Park.
Look up the Wikipedia page
if you grew up in North Jersey in the 80s and 90s, you're probably an abomination to humanity
Dumb American criticizing other American about the s**thole they live in. At least one is aware of the hilarity.
