ReplyFrom Wiki, Average volume of a Medium grain of sand = 1x10^-12. This multiplied by 1,509,949,44 gives a volume of approx. 1.51x10^-6 m3, which is equavalent to approx 1.51 millilitres.
ReplyThe volume of 1 cup = 16 tablespoons = 1/2 pint = 0.2365882368 liters = 236.5882368 milliliters. Therefore, a standard measuring cup can hold approx. 156.7 times as many grains of sand as would fit on a 1.44 floppy (if grains of sand were equivalent to bytes).
