Very funny. I've had this happen in my head so many fucking times it's unbelievable. It is worth noting, however, that Clue is always fun as hell.
ReplyAlso, to the "you put the panels in a weird order" crowd, in the English language, we typically read things from left to right, starting at the top and ending at the bottom. Also, how much does the configuration of the board games in question really interfere with your comprehension and enjoyment of the joke? Nerds.
Good stuff.
ReplyGood stuff.
ReplyOh man this is so true. Also, why would they set the panel order like that? The people here on cracked aren't all gunna be able to figure it out.
Replyhahaha oh wait ....
ReplyMotorcycleBoy: The panels are out of order, read them so that the background alternates between dark and light. It's a weird choice by the artist, but explains the board being "wrong."
ReplyNo, but it explains how much of a f**king retard you are.
true the pieces are off, but who gives a shit? lets strive to find something wrong in somebodys creation
ReplyIf you look at the board, they are playing risk in both panel 3 and panel 5. Lazy work people. How hard would it have been to have added the little squares that denoted the monopoly board in previous panels? Not very.
ReplyThis one made me laugh

Remember, "Monopoly" first became a huge national (and then international) fad during the Great Depression; compared to standing in line for bread or dance-marathoning till you passed out, it must've seemed comparatively fun.
Replyyou know what would be nice?
Replyif you could draw your characters with a little bit more enthusiasm
serriously, they always have this blank face like they've been taking acting classes from keanu reeves or something
In reply to hamster jelly, I'm sure a lot of commenters are thinking of that without your prompt
ReplyMonopoly is fun if you don't play it the sissy way. I'm talking high pressure haggling and feuding, beginning the instant someone lands on a property. Warning: may result in "backpfeifengesicht," as the Germans call it.
ReplyThe only times I've ever played a game of Monopoly in which everyone had fun was with some theme version, particularly Star Wars Monopoly, where everyone could spend the entire time making jokes.
ReplyVanilla Monopoly is something you play when you're overly happy and need to be pissed off for a while.
I always get that with boardgames, but not with Risk.
ReplyIt's called nostalgia goggles.
ReplyThey said it in the Simpsons very correctly:
Wiggum:"Tsk tsk...another Monopoly related crime."
Lou: "How to those Parker Bros. sleep at night?"
I would play it in school and it always, and I mean ALWAYS ended up in an all out brawl on the floor.
(Imagine a 7th grade girl [me] beating on a Canadian boy. Yeah.)
Does anyone else realize that the 4th and 5th panels are out of order. They're already playing Risk when Daisy suggests it.
ReplyNevermind
ReplyI like it because Monopoly was created by people who hate fun. Possibly Fred Phelps?!
