Do you think friendships between young boys and geriatric maintenance men are slightly creepy? Do you find yourself wondering if Cobra Kai will ever die? (Hint: never.) Sounds like you need to brush up on your Karate Kid. Luckily, you no longer have to watch the entire 120-minute film, thanks to our extensive Cliffs Notes on the John G Avildsen classic.
This was pretty funny. I get that it's a joke and all, but making satire about The Karate Kid like this means you sort of have to ignore the whole point. Mainly the point is that Miyagi trained Daniel for three months in a very straight-forward style of karate and that Miyagi himself has been in many fights when he was growing up in Okinanwa so he actually knew how to fight. The Cobra Kai guys couldn't beat Daniel because their karate was too watered down and based on beating up guys who didn't know how to protect themselves, whereas Miyagi's karate has been refined through decades of beating up guys who also knew karate. The final point is that the Cobra Kai weren't really good at karate; they were just bullies.
I wish there were some way I could bump this. It's a shame for something this funny to languish in the depths of the archives with a lousy three comments. Not even anybody incomprehensibly advertising Warcraft powerleveling.
