Wow, at the comments. It's not that you're dissecting / judging / criticizing the humor (and at one point speculating about the true nature of humor), it's the degree to which you carry on. ----- You know that besserwisser at every party? The guy that has to over-analyze everything and drags you into a corner to tell you BORING things because you're too polite to tell him he's an idiot? ----- The cracked comments are about six orders of magnitude beyond that. It's like the guy that will actively PULL YOU BACK when you try to excuse yourself because you want to talk to that nice lady over there. It's the guy that will poison you drink, only to bring you to his house, tie you to a chair, and LECTURE you about all that boring-as-f**k crap he's always talking about. ----- Seriously, if you respond to a joke by telling everybody - in a dead serious manner - your theory of the nature of humor, you not only have completely managed to botch the concept, you're ruining it for everyone else. ----- Yes, someone tells a joke, everybody laughs,except this one guy in the corner who goes: "The idea was good, but it lacked proper use of timing. The pacing was also a bot off and the punchline needs work". And then everyone exchanges awkward looks and someone whispers "who the f**k IS this guy?". ----- That's YOU, noble cracked commenter! ----- The sheer magnitude of boredom found within here is almost inspiring in an odd kind of way. I swear, I'm actually getting interested, in some anthropologic sense. Surely there is a special breed of humans found within here. Not that I'd like to personally know any one of you, heavens forbid, but I'd like to study you from a safe distance. I'd like to see what a normal day in the life of a Cracked commenter looks like. ----- And hey, I figured I'd post my variant of paragraph breaks. It's five dashes with spaces on each side. I recommend taking my comment, pasting it into a text editor, removing the dashes and adding line spaces. Go on, you've nothing better to do anyway.
