They did a completely different gag about eye-popping. Cartoons have had eye-popping jokes for a hundred years now. Besides...I drew this comic before Flapjack ever aired.

My original title for this comic was just "deal," as that's supposed to be the confusing/weird part, i.e. "what the hell kind of deal did they have exactly?" I'm bad at getting my jokes across so only one or two people got that from it.

The title and image of this on the Archive page gave the punchline away completely. Although it still managed to keep the "We had a deal!" line from me, so I was surprised (and therefore amused) by that.
